Discover The World Through Its Gardens
Tired of rushed sightseeing and crowded tourist spots? So are we. At Carex Tours, we believe there’s a better way to experience a country – through its gardens.
If you’d rather wander an 18th-century garden than wait in line for a monument selfie, you’ve found your tribe.

We can’t wait to kick off our first Garden Club Meetup 🎊
Join us live as Chris Walsh takes us through inspiring and practical alternatives to boxwood.
📅Wednesday, 24 June
🕓 7:30 PM ET | 4:30 PM PT
To join, the link is available in our Instagram bio, on our Instagram story, or comment "GARDEN" and we will message it to you!
The best part of a live webinar is getting involved and the chance to ask your own questions!
There will be time during the call to ask Chris anything that's on your mind when it comes to boxwood in garden design.
If you can't make it live, a recording will be available so you won't miss out!
Hope to see you there 🌿
We’re so excited for you to join our chat with Chris Walsh at the first garden club meet-up next week!
Chris has returned from exploring some of the UK’s most inspiring gardens like Great Dixter, Sissinghurst, and the Chelsea Flower Show!
Each garden offered fresh ideas worth discussing…it left us with more topics than we can unpack in a single conversation. We’d love your help to decide which theme you want Chris to dive into...
What challenge are you trying to solve in your garden right now? Let us know by leaving a comment with the emoji that matches:
🌿 1. What are the best alternatives to boxwood?
🦋 2. How can plant combinations create year-round interest in the garden?
💧 3. How should I use water in my garden to attract and support wildlife?
🐝 4. I want to attract more wildlife - how can I do this without my garden looking messy?
🎨 5. How can color be used to create atmosphere and emotional impact in my garden?
🌸 6. Which plants work best for creating privacy?
🧑🌾 7. How can ornamental planting be successful, combined with edible crops and culinary herbs?

The “wisteria hysteria” has officially taken over our Carexplorers 💜
May is one of the best times to visit England if you want to catch these dripping violet blooms in all their glory.
Our gang has already visited @kiftsgategardens Kiftsgate Court Gardens (home to one of the largest wisterias in Britain) and @rhswisley RHS Garden Wisley with its famous Wisteria Walk.
Are you team wisteria yet? 🤩
Day 1: a little drizzle and a whole lot of wonder! Thanks @kneppwildland the laughter at the end is worth not the scroll! @carextours @verdantgardenworks @walsh8008
There are some places in the world that just seem unreal...
...that stimulate such a sense of awe, they bring tears to your eyes.
We love finding spots like these. That not only inspire, but make you feel like you’ve just stepped into a fairytale where, just for a moment, anything seems possible.

That’s just one of the things that fascinated garden designer Emily Kelting when she joined us in Japan last fall.
Emily recently gave a talk about her experience of Japanese gardens, sharing her photographs and stories from the trip.
And honestly, what we love even more than sharing stories from our trips ourselves is when our Carexplorers share them to the world instead. 🥰
Watch Emily's presentation to find out what fascinated her the most in Japan’s gardens. It’s well worth your time — so grab a cup of matcha and enjoy. 🍵🍿
